  • Manufacturing Scientist

      We want:
      A&P Inphatec, LLC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented applicant to join our Manufacturing team as a full-time Manufacturing Scientist.
      This individual will be responsible for running the production line to meet yearly goals for our EPA-registered phage product, in addition to developing and optimizing our production methods to increase production yield and decrease costs. The ideal candidate will work independently to develop and execute protocols while maintaining accurate manufacturing and process development records for regulatory compliance. This individual must be detail oriented and able to communicate effectively in a small team. This position will report to the Manager of Microbiology and Molecular Biology.

      Responsibilities include:
      ·      Functioning as part of a small team of Scientists and Technicians to develop and execute multistep workflows to deliver high quality, cost effective phage products
      ·      Maintaining accurate, real-time records of production activities – this work will sometimes support regulatory submissions and other times will be restricted by regulatory requirements
      ·      Assist in assessing feasibility of new equipment and technologies for production workflows
      ·      Designing, performing, and analyzing pilot scale and production scale upstream and downstream workflows with an eye towards scale up
      ·      Troubleshooting and optimizing production scale workflows to improve yield, quality, and reproducibility
      ·      Assisting in hand off of new workflows to other members of the team – this includes developing and validating batch production record templates and standard operating procedures
      ·      Assisting in identifying and resolving any issues in the manufacturing process
      ·      Assisting in maintaining facilities (including environmental control and equipment maintenance) and warehouse inventories

      You have:
      ·      PhD or equivalent experience in life sciences or a related field
      ·      Expertise in handling microbes in an aseptic manner
      ·      Expertise in handling naturally isolated microbes
      ·      Familiarity with industrial bioprocessing and manufacturing
      ·      Attention to detail and excellent record-keeping
      ·      Familiarity with chemical and biological risks of working in a laboratory environment
      ·      Great verbal and written communication skills
      ·      Excitement to work in a close-knit, fast paced working environment
      ·      Ability to adapt to changing priorities
      ·      Comfortable learning and working outside of your area of expertise

  • Lab/Manufacturing Technician

      We want:
      A&P Inphatec, LLC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented applicant to join our team as a full-time Lab & Manufacturing Technician. This individual will be responsible for supporting the development, establishment, and execution of protocols to manufacture our EPA-registered product. The ideal candidate can work independently to help develop and execute protocols while maintaining accurate manufacturing records, as well as creatively to aid in the continual optimization and further development of our manufacturing line. This individual must be able to communicate effectively in informal settings and be able to work well within a small team. This individual will report to a lead scientist. Candidates should have prior microbiology laboratory experience and be competent at basic laboratory activities.

      Responsibilities include:
      ·      Bacteriophage production process development: 
      -routine testing and maintenance of bacteriophage and bacterial banks
      -preparation and sterilization of microbiological media and buffers
      -running small scale bacteriophage fermentation and purification processes
      -bacterial and bacteriophage growth and enumeration
      ·      Bacteriophage production:
      -aid in development and maintenance of standard operating procedures with scientist in charge
      -perform standard operating procedures in bacteriophage fermentation, purification, and/or bottle filling
      -keep accurate records in real time of executed procedures for quality control
      -identifying and resolving, with the lead scientist in charge, any issues in the manufacturing process
      -assist in maintaining warehouse inventories and environmental control

      You have:
      ·      Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related field
      ·      Familiarity with using a biological safety cabinet
      ·      Familiarity with industrial biologics manufacturing
      ·      Experience in handling bacteriophages and BSL-1 and BSL-2 microbes
      ·      Attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills using standard Microsoft software
      ·      Experience with chemical and biological risks of working in a laboratory environment
      ·      Great verbal and written communication skills
      ·      Excitement to work in a close-knit working environment

      You might have:
      ·      Two years’ experience in industrial manufacturing or industrial research

  • Scientist Phage biologist

      We want:
      A&P Inphatec, LLC is seeking an experienced bacteriophage biologist applicant to join our research and development team as a full-time Scientist. This individual will be responsible for characterizing the bacteriophages in A&P’s library, as well as developing new bacteriophage discovery and characterization techniques. This individual must be able to communicate effectively in informal settings and be able to work well within a team. Candidates should have prior experience working with bacteriophages.

      Responsibilities include:
      •Develop and optimize phage discovery techniques on uncommon bacterial hosts
      •Develop and optimize phage production protocols that can be scaled for manufacturing
      •Develop high-throughput methods for characterizing new phages
      •Improve existing phage cocktails using novel techniques
      •Improve PCR and qPCR detection methods for phages and bacteria
      •Contribute to the development of phage quality metrics
      •Contribute to the development of new intellectual property
      •Phage genomic DNA extraction
      •Presentation of results to internal scientists and external collaborators

      You have:
      •A PhD in life sciences or related field
      •Experience isolating and characterizing bacteriophages
      •Able to translate a high-level goal into action with minimal further guidance
      •A problem-solver with strong analytical skills
      •Organized with excellent communication skills, including scientific presentation
      •Excitement to work in a close-knit working environment

      You might have:
      •2 years industrial experience in bacteriophage applications
      •Experience developing novel bacteriophage technologies
