A&P Inphatec, LLC has commercialized the first product to treat Pierce’s Disease in grapevines. Our unique solution utilizes bacteriophages to target and kill the bacteria at the source of the problem – giving wine growers an organic and sustainable solution to a rising threat in California. We want:
A&P Inphatec, LLC is seeking an experienced microbiologist applicant to join our research and development team as a full-time Research Scientist. This individual will be responsible for developing biological products for One Health. This individual must be able to communicate effectively in informal settings and be able to work well within a team. Candidates should have prior experience developing biological products.
Responsibilities include:
· Develop, optimize, and implement phage discovery techniques
· Develop and optimize biological products for use in One Health
· Creatively identify novel targets and biological solutions
· Contribute to the development of new intellectual property
· Presentation of results to internal scientists and external collaborators
· Other tasks as assigned
You have:
A PhD in life sciences or related field
· Able to translate a high-level goal into action with minimal further guidance
· A problem-solver with strong analytical skills
· Strong microbiology and molecular biology skills, including, but not limited to:
o Experience working with and isolating naturally occurring bacteria,
o Nucleic acid extraction, PCR/qPCR, primer design, NGS
o Working in an aseptic manner (biosafety cabinet)
· Organized with excellent communication skills, including scientific presentations
· Excitement to work in a close-knit working environment
You might have:
· Experience developing novel bacteriophage technologies (bacteriophage isolation, characterization, and amplification)
· Experience with plant-specific pathogens

Lab / Manufacturing Technician

We want:
A&P Inphatec, LLC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented applicant to join our team as a full-time Lab/Manufacturing Technician. This individual will be responsible for supporting the development, establishment, and execution of protocols to manufacture our EPA-registered product as well as daily lab maintenance activities. The ideal candidate can work independently to execute protocols while maintaining accurate manufacturing records, as well as troubleshoot any issues that arise and aid in the continual optimization and further development of our manufacturing line. This individual must be able to communicate effectively and work well within a small team. This individual will report to the Manager, Manufacturing. Candidates should have prior microbiology laboratory experience.
Responsibilities include:
• routine testing and maintenance of bacteriophage and bacterial banks
• routine inventorying of raw materials and work-in-progress
• preparation and sterilization of microbiological medias and buffers
• running small scale bacteriophage fermentation and purification assays
• bacterial and bacteriophage growth and enumeration/quantification
• aid in development and maintenance of standard operating procedures
• perform standard operating procedures in bacteriophage fermentation, purification, and/or bottle filling
• keep accurate records in real time of executed procedures for quality control
• aid in identifying and resolving any issues in the manufacturing process
• assist in maintaining warehouse inventories and environmental control
• assisting other scientists or members of the team or company as needed
You have:
• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related field
• Experience working with microbes and/or tissue culture
• Attention to detail and excellent record-keeping using standard Microsoft software
• Familiarity with chemical and biological risks of working in a laboratory environment
• Great verbal and written communication skills
• Excitement to work in a close-knit environment
You might have:
• At least one year of laboratory experience (academic independent study or industry)
• Familiarity with a biosafety cabinet is a plus.
• Experience working with undomesticated bacteria (i.e. non-lab strains) and bacteriophages

Manager, Research Scientist

A&P Inphatec, LLC is seeking a full time Manager, Research Scientist with broad experience in microbiology and/or molecular biology, and strong interpersonal skills to join our research and development team. This individual will be responsible for managing current projects and developing microbial biopesticide, new biological products for One Health. This individual must be able to communicate effectively in informal settings and be able to work well within a team. Candidates should have prior experience developing biological products.
Responsibilities include:
• Manage R&D staff including recruiting, onboarding, and performance management
• Managing project teams to develop, execute and complete assignments
• Management, enable and inspire R&D staff to excellence
• Develop, optimize, and implement phage discovery techniques
• Develop and optimize biopesticides for use in agriculture
• Creatively identify novel targets and biological solutions
• Contribute to the development of new intellectual property
• Presentation of results to internal scientists and external collaborators

You have:
• A PhD in life sciences or related field
• At least 3 years’ experience developing commercial biological products
• 2 years’ experience managing scientific technical staff (Ph.D., Research Associates)
• Able to translate a high-level goal into action with minimal further guidance
• A problem-solver with strong analytical skills
• Strong microbiology and molecular biology skills, including, but not limited to:
• Experience working with microorganism related research either bacteria, fungus, virus, and/or bacteriophage
• Experience working with and isolating naturally occurring bacteria,
• Nucleic acid extraction, PCR/qPCR, primer design, NGS
• Working in an aseptic manner (biosafety cabinet)
• Organized with excellent communication skills, including scientific presentations
• Experience hiring and mentoring growth of Scientists
